Full Itinerary
Did you know that Lithuania was the biggest country in Europe in the 14th century? Take a half-day trip to Trakai, one of the prettiest and UNESCO recognized towns in Lithuania (and country's medieval capital) to experience laid back atmosphere and discover Lithuanian history at your own pace. We’ll explore the town’s impressive castle by foot and by boat, admire pagan art at the Hill of Angels and enjoy a traditional lunch at a family-owned restaurant.
Upon arrival at the bridge to Trakai castle-museum, we’ll stroll on the bridges towards it, admiring the historic views all around us. If you have mobility issues or don't want climb narrow and steep stairs inside the castle, we will board the boat and take a relaxing 30 minutes sail around the castle, admiring instaviews, while hearing its history and legends.
Next, we will head to a local café, run by a true Karaite to taste Karaite dish, Kybyn. As we wait for it to bake, we’ll enjoy a pint of local craft beer and some local snacks.
After the lunch we’ll hop back into the car to take you back to Vilnius. Before we part, don’t forget to ask your local guide for more tips on what else to see, do and eat during your stay in Lithuania.
